The Lord Almighty in His benevolence chose Rev. Small as the founder of the Apostolic Church of Pentecost. The same then known as the “Emmanuel Pentecost” was founded in 1921 at Saskatchawan, a prairie province in Canada.

In 1946, God sent a Canadian Missionary Rev. G.W. Neilsen and his wife Mrs. Evan Neilsen to Kerala. In the early years, they stayed at Muttambalam, Kottayam. He planted the very first church of the Apostolic church of Pentecost of India at Elavinal, Tiruvalla. Subsequently churches were planted in Manganam, Kottayam, Thiruvalla, Kaviyoor, Padinjattussery and Vettiyar.
